How Elkris SuperOat Helps To Control Your Diabetes

The Beta-Glucan Found In Elkris Super-Oat Helps To Control Diabetes

Researchers in Mannheim, Germany carried out a dietary intervention with 14 patients who had uncontrolled type 2 diabetes and insulin resistance. The patients were introduced to a diabetes-appropriate diet containing oatmeal during a short hospital stay, then examined again four weeks later. On average, patients achieved a 40% reduction in insulin dosage – and maintained the reduction even after 4 weeks on their own at home. -  Experimental and Clinical Endocrinology & Diabetes, February 2008; 116(2):132-4

How Elkris' Specially Fortified Beta-Glucan Ingredient Helps
Control Diabetes in Diabetic Patients
as well as Help
Protect Non-Diabetic & the Pre-diabetes General Population, long term!

The extra fortified soluble fibre ingredient in Elkris Super-Oat puts it in a class of its own, by far more superior to Wheat fibre. Wheat is good for diabetic patients because it has much higher fibre content than garri, pounded yam, fufu, akpu, etc. But that's where it ends! Apart from this, wheat generally does not provide additional scientific mechanism for helping to regulate your blood sugar levels in your digestive system, the way Elkris SuperOat does.

That's because Elkris Super-Oat on the other hand contains a second fibre apart from the insoluble fibre which is also present in wheat. The second special fibre found in Elkris Super-Oat is called soluble fibre (aka beta-glucan). This ingredient found in whole oats was further enriched in our Elkris Super-Oat so as to deliver an even more tangible result in the areas of diabetes and cholesterol. With the help of this special ingredient, it is therefore no longer about the quantity of carbohydrate you are consuming. With Elkris SuperOat as your alternative swallow, it is all to do with this special ingredient. The ingredient act to ensure that the carbohydrate (glucose, sugar) content from your food is brought under a control mechanism in your digestive system, and only released into your blood stream slowly bit by bit; such that your body does not experience the familiar erratic spike in blood sugar levels as it is with your regular swallows. This is a proven scientific experience which has been established and confirmed by tens upon tens of researches; including bodies such as America FDA, European  EFSA, and research laboratories across the globe.

Here's how the beta glucan in Elkris SuperOat manages to help control the release of glucose in your system;

1) Soluble Fibre Acts To Thicken The Outer Layer Of Your Intestine:
Scientists and researches observed that because soluble fibre (beta glucan) dissolves in water and forms a thick gel, the thick gel rubs off on the wall of the intestine and in the process helps to thicken the wall of the intestine which is meant to absorb nutrients into the body. The result of this thicken wall is that "the process of absorbing glucose into the blood stream (blood glucose) is drastically slowed down to normal levels of glucose energy requirement for your body."

2) It was further noticed that after soluble fibre dissolves in water, it traps nutrients (including glucose) inside its gel. The gel coating action is believed to inhibit and slow the action of enzymes on starch or sugar nutrients. Consequently, glucose known as blood sugar is adsorbed into the blood stream much more slowly; thereby preventing every form of spike in blood glucose typically experienced by diabetic patients after meal.

Fewer spikes in blood glucose eventually lead to greater sensitivity to the action of insulin. Avoiding high peaks and low valleys in blood glucose places less stress on the pancreas which is important not only to diabetics but also to those who want to prevent the development of type 2 diabetes.

Pre-Diabetes And Non-Diabetes Populace:
That you have not been officially diagnosed diabetic does not really put you in the clear. Pro-action means now is the better time to start to eat wisely if you plan to live a diabetes-free life. Switch over to Elkris SuperOat Swallow, now. And if your doctors have ever alerted you that you are on the border-line with diabetes, then adopting Elkris Super-Oat swallow now as your regular new carbohydrate swallow is a sure  way to protect yourself against diabetes, long term.

So, why wait to be warned. Take action today!

  5. I just read that a cup of elkris super oat has 390 calories. That's really high. Garri has 360 calories. Which means Elkris super oat is not for weight loss

    1. Garri has empty calories meaning high energy, low nutrients. Oats are the opposite and are good for weight loss, it doesnt matter if the calories are higher than in Garri. As a whole it's much better. It's like honey. High calories but excellent for all round well being and health. You can try oat bran instead if your wary of the calories in oat flour.

  9. Hello. I have been hooked on elkris super oat since I stumbled upon it in ShopRite August 2017.
A great replacement swallow for me since I am on a wellness/ fitness lifestyle.
It's tasty and a great time safer from blending rolled out in our "lightless" Naija.
My concerns about the product began last week after I tried to log it on my online food tracker - my fitness Pal. It kept blinking "this product has too much sodium, you are supposed to have so so amount of sodium per day". I then looked and found that a cup of elkris super oat contains 2000MG or 2Gram of sodium. I ran to my kitchen to check the package and it's the same amount. I became more scared when I checked Quaker oats and found sodium amount as trace. I also checked Millville rolled oats and found sodium as 0mg.
I think that you should please look into this sodium amount. I don't want to get a high blood pressure from knowingly feeding myself with sodium. A high blood pressure can be counterproductive to diabetes mellitus management.
Until then, I will dash out my recently bought two 1.3 kg bags.
    Thank you.

  18. Sorry, the Sodium content in Elkris superoat is 2mg per 100g and NOT 2g per 100g. It was a printing error we can't wait to correct on our next packaging update. You could verify this from openly available data on oats(2-3mg)
Once again please accpet our apology for this major error. We really appreciate your close partnership with Elkris and its brand.

First, the insoluble fibre works as colon cleanser

  23. You are guys are really something else. A complain of 2018 about too much sodium and you said it is a typographical error but I just checked the one in my house, and it is still 2g not mg. Are you people intentionally trying to kill people or what? 2years after yet you have not resolved it. If in 1month it's not changed,I ll personally alert the whole world. It is either you guys are lieing about the sodium content or covering something. Till date,a complain of 2018 has not been corrected? Typical of Nigerians.

    1. And all of a sudden, they’ve gone mute. Any serious business claiming to sell diabetes friendly foods must have this information printed on the packaging of their products. How many carbs per 100g please answer!

      Delete
  31. Jude, if you had done your research properly, KETO is the absence of every form of carbs, simple. Therefore you could not be asking to know the volume of carb in our product as part of keto diet. All swallows have carbs of one proportion or the other; they have never been prescribed as part of keto diet at any time.

Meanwhile, are you sure you're familiar with elkris superoat at all? Becasue if you are, the very first thing you will see on our product is a picture of an independent award as Nigeria's leading diabetes friendly swallow. Secondly, you would find the answers to most of your questions on label.
But for your benefit of doubt, while as much as 66 per cent of every 100g of elkris superoat is carb, the reason why the product is unique is the fact when it comes to oats, much of that 66% carb is actually soluble and insoluble fibre. While the insoluble fibre cleanses the digestive system thereby aiding weight loss, on the other hand, the soluble fibre works like a medical product by helping to prevent glucose from pouring into your blood stream. These are why people prefer elkrissuperoat as their favourite swallow
But if you are on keta diet, you have no business eating rice, bread, or any food that has glucose
